Visiting scientists


SCCAP is an integrated part of the Phycology Laboratory at the Department of Biology, University of Copenhagen, and welcomes visiting scientists for shorter or longer periods. The scientific staff covers a number of different aspects of phycology, for particular research areas check researcher’s links below.

Culture facilities and access to the collection via the SCCAP staff will be provided during the stay. We have an array of modern research light microscopes with digital cameras, inverted microscopes, including a spinning disk confocal. We also have a JEOL 1010 transmission electron microscope and JEOL JSM 6335F field emission scanning electron microscope. Inclusion of DNA work is also a possibility.

Appropriate fees will be assessed for supplies, equipment use, laboratory space and office space.

Notice! – EU visitors
SCCAP is a TAF facilty (taxonomic access facility) under the European Union programme Synthesys. This means expenditures by visiting scientists from EU will be covered by the programme, including bench fees, cost of international travel fare, local accommodation and a per diem for subsistence and local travel.

At present eligible countries are:
Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark (including Greenland), Estonia, Finland, France (including Guadeloupe, Martinique, Guyane, La Réunion), Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, United Kingdom.
Plus the associated countries of the EU: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, FYR Macedonia, Iceland, Israel, Liechtenstein, Montenegro, Norway, Republic of Serbia, Switzerland and Turkey.
